Revisiting Site Design... Again!

Looks like whenever I think I've got the design to a place I like it, I find that I no longer like it anymore! So, after some looking around, I decided to use the Pixture theme to revamp the site. In doing so, I also decided... since I'm already using the Content Construction Kit, I might as well go the extra mile and use the Content Template module to make the information a bit prettier!

Little did I know that I would get so much more! Not only am I able to manage the CCK content, but other module output as well! Sweet!

Using the Side Blocks and Teaser content fields!

One of the things I wanted to do, ever since I realized it was tons of fun integrating video into a posting, was to move the video to the side, so that the main body could be focused on just the information and article. The only problem... while I could display it on the side in a block, I found that the teaser tended to get duplicated, and with it, the included video block!

While I could definitely disable the visibility of the video block and any field I wanted, I was left to the "stacking" display methodology presented by CCK.

Thanks to the Content Template module, I've been able to restructure things around.

I've also gained a little more control over the way the Amazon module's related product tagging is employed... though I've since found that the WYSIWYG editor seems to be messing up the filters! Waah!!!

The work continues, but I've been back tracking and back filling previous postings so that they are taking advantage of the new platform changes. Hopefully, it is for the better!
